Jero Melati was born into a priest-cast in Bangli. She spent most of her childhood in school and assisted her uncle, the Mangku Dalem, in the village of Nyangelan Kaca. She learned all about ceremonies and traditional ointments at that time. She studied Balinese dance on the side and pursued a modelling career. She is considered one of Bali's leading fashion models and has received awards for her performances in several motion pictures. Now, her talents and calling have caught up with her, and Jero Melati's deep spiritual roots are guiding her life and journey to a higher level.

There is not a price tag on spiritual “services” in Bali. An appropriate donation to the holy room is much appreciated. The funds donated are used to help those in need, upkeep the shrine, and support the journey to collect energy from the many temples of Bali.
